During Target’s emergence as a design-led retail force in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the retailer undertook a broader transformation with a rapid-cycle concept engine. The mandate was concrete: develop ten new ideas every two weeks across retail experience, merchandising, private-label presentation, and in-store storytelling. The work helped Target strengthen its position as a culturally relevant, design-driven alternative within discount retail. Jonah led this work for frog design.

The goal was simple: every shopper pushing a cart down an aisle would discover one item they didn’t expect to want — and throw it in. They did. And Target became Targé.
